FIVE SIX SEVEN EIGHT! is the third Debasers short filum. It follows the bold and desperate attempt of a young man who, after failing to simply ask out the girl of his dreams at a local dance event, resorts to overcompensating to catch her eye.
As he walks onto the mostly empty dancefloor, he’s faced by a dozen bored attendees and a lounge band who’d rather be somewhere else.
Sticking to his word, he starts dancing, the way he only knows how, facing shame and humiliation, setting off a series of tiny chain reactions through the crowd.
“FIVE SIX SEVEN EIGHT!” is a short filum with a surf rock soundtrack by the Head Henchmen, no dialogue and lots of dancing!
It was shot over three long days at the Govanhill Baths in Glasgow with the full support of the Friends of the Govanhill Baths community trust. It will be first screened at a very special fundraiser for the Baths. The filum itself was entirely crowdfunded on Sponsume by over 100 backers.
It features an original soundtrack by surf rock band the Head Henchmen and illustrations by Ben Morris.
